The Mary Kay Ash Foundation is a non-profit public foundation dedicated to advancing research on cancers predominantly affecting women, including but not limited to, breast, ovarian, uterine, endometrial, or cervical cancers. Its focus is on supporting innovative translational research that bridges laboratory discoveries and clinical application, ultimately improving diagnosis, prognosis, prevention, or treatment of the cancer.


PIs must be appointed a full-time assistant professor or higher at the time of submission and commit a minimum 5% effort to the proposed project.


Awards are $100,000 (combined direct and indirect costs) over a two-year period.


USC may submit only one application to this announcement.

Submission Process

If interested in applying for this limited submission, please prepare the following, combine into one PDF document, and email to USCcfr@sc.edu by 5 pm November 21, 2025:

  • A cover page with grant program name, project title, PI (i.e., name, department/unit, email address)
  • A two-page project abstract addressing key components/criteria for this specific grant program,
  • A 2-3 page CV/bio sketch

Once the internal selection process has taken place and an applicant has been selected, the applicant will work with the Office of the Vice President for Research and the Office of Corporate & Foundation Relations to complete and submit the final application on or before February 2, 2026.
