The Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention & Prevention office offers support and services to students, faculty and staff who are survivors of sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, relationship difficulties, dating and domestic violence issues and any form of interpersonal violence.

Sexual assault survivors are more at risk for suicidal thoughts, anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns. Counseling & Psychiatry can provide sexual assault survivors a confidential and safe place to speak privately about these concerns and others such as substance abuse and related issues.

Getting medical attention immediately after an assault is important, whether or not you report the assault or file charges. Medical attention can detect, document, and treat physical injury, sexually transmitted diseases, and pregnancy.

Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands provides free and confidential crisis intervention, advocacy and support services to female and male child, adolescent and adult survivors of sexual assault and abuse in Midlands counties and education about sexual trauma issues.

All other staff on campus are required to report interpersonal violence incidents to the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs.
