Bio

Aimee Marcinko is a ceramic artist and educator focused on altering wheel-thrown ceramics to fabricate biomorphic forms. Combining light, sensors, and translucent porcelain, she intricately designs complex surfaces on sculptures and functional vessels. Her installation works encourage interaction to generate illuminated ceramic forms and hidden patterns.
Aimee holds an MFA in Ceramics from the University of Florida, where she was honored with the College of Art Teaching Fellowship and nominated for the Graduate Student Teaching Award. Prior to this, she completed an MA in Art Education from Arizona State University, supported by a merit-based scholarship, and conducted research on youth leadership through collaborative tile mosaic murals.
Aimee is currently a Professional-Track Instructor of Ceramics at the University of South Carolina. She has been a resident artist at Midwestern State University in Texas, Cobb Mountain Art and Ecology in California, the Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China, and participated in The Potter’s for Peace organization in Nicaragua. She has contributed to artists talks, workshops, internships, and technical support at nationally recognized art centers, including Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Anderson Ranch Art Center, Penland School of Craft, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, and the Phoenix Art Museum. Aimee's work has been prominently featured in many selected and invited national exhibitions.
