K-12 Teacher Development

Our center enhances and supports the professional growth of educators by providing hands-on content workshops. We believe that effective educators are lifelong learners and that professional development is an ongoing process of enhancing our understanding of how children develop and learn, advancing our content knowledge and learning new practices.

 This Teacher PD will be held at Swearingen Engineering Center located at 301 Main Street, Columbia. 9am -3pm on Friday, October 18.  Breakout sessions will be:

  • 9:30 am: Funding and Grant Writing, Programmatic growth and STEM Competitions, MORE Drones in the classroom, VRcade Quest
  • 10:45 am : PLTW Comp Sci Pathway, Siemens Update, Sensors of Automation and Robotics, and Fursion 360
  • 12:30 pm: Teaching like a Time Pirate, Breaking News in PLTW, What’s new with VEX Robotics?, Future Cities
  • 145 pm: Engineering classroom, Industry certifications, AI For teachers: Brisk Teaching, VEXCode from 20,000ft.
