We are delighted to welcome Abe Cross as the Lead Senior Director of Development for the McCausland College of Arts & Sciences. Abe’s distinguished career in higher education advancement includes extensive experience in principal and major gifts, campaign strategy, constituent engagement, and team development. Additionally, Abe brings significant experience in alumni relations, communications, and organizational leadership - having served in leadership positions during dean and university transitions.

Across his 25-year career, Abe has exceeded campaign goals and shaped advancement programs that elevate donor engagement and institutional impact.  Abe’s experience includes a proven record leading high performing teams that achieve aspirational goals through meaningful engagement across all stakeholders. He served in key advancement roles at Lindenwood University, Washington University in St. Louis, and Purdue University—each time driving measurable philanthropic growth and strengthening institutional relationships. At Lindenwood University, Abe led a seven‑person team overseeing major, principal, planned, athletics, and annual giving. At Washington University, Abe played a pivotal role in a transformative naming gift that launched the McKelvey School of Engineering. He later led a $30-million challenge initiative that ultimately inspired more than $57 million in new commitments.

Abe is passionate about mission‑driven work and about building strategies that deepen connections between institutions and their communities. He is excited to bring this experience to his new role and to collaborate with colleagues, campus partners, and supporters to advance the mission of the McCausland College of Arts & Sciences. We are excited for the insight, energy, and vision he will contribute to our organization.
