Immerse yourself in the social life of food during this dynamic seminar in Paris, France while exploring the culture of food in France and the United States.
Taste and analyze everyday staples — from bread, wine, and cheese to fast food — as you examine how food shapes identity, culture, and inequality. Visit farms and local markets in and around Paris, engage with French and immigrant food traditions, and reflect on your own relationship to what you eat. Through hands-on experiences, discussion, and critical inquiry, you'll discover how food connects communities, expresses values, and reveals the politics behind everyday life.
