New Orientation Advising Model Launching in Summer 2025
In Summer 2025, the University of South Carolina will introduce a new orientation academic advising model to enhance the onboarding experience for incoming students. As part of this pilot, students in select colleges are encouraged to schedule advising appointments and register for their courses before attending New Student Orientation (NSO).
This proactive approach allows students to focus on building connections and engaging with campus resources during NSO while ensuring a smoother transition to USC.
Incoming fall students belonging to majors in the below colleges are eligible for academic advising and course registration prior to attending New Student Orientation. Students will be required to complete specified tasks prior to scheduling a virtual advising appointment. Click here for more information.
