Derek Shook joined the College of Arts and Sciences development team after working for much of the last decade in college athletics development. Most recently, he served as the Associate Athletic Director/Executive Director of the Cowboy Joe Club at the University of Wyoming. Throughout his career, Derek sees the best part of his job as connecting with donors and building relationships to make their philanthropic dreams a reality.  

Originally from Asheville, NC, Derek is thrilled to be back closer to home and helping advance the mission of the University of South Carolina. In his spare time, you can find him spending time with his family, on the golf course, or working to perfect pulled pork in the smoker.
